Jeffrey Alexander returns to Baked!
Some of y'all will remember the deeply fried slow burn journey Jeffrey last took us on when Dire Wolves dropped ‘One For The Heads’ on Baked for Halloween 2018. In the time since, he’s relocated to the east coast, and assembled a new wrecking crew to dose the cosmos with from his new base of operations in Philly.
Welcome to the birth of The Heavy Lidders.
Anchored by the zone-lord rhythm section of Jesse Sheppard (12-String wrangler of Elkhorn) on bass and Scott Verrastro (Kohoutek, Bardo Pond) on drums, Alexander engages a more song-centric guidance as the launchpad for The Heavy Lidders, but once the rockets ignite, hold on to yr skulls. The trio quickly and effortlessly stir-up a zonal simmer into a full-on eruption of bust-open-the-doors-of-reality, scorched-earth psychedelia, so buckle in and keep your legs and arms inside the vehicle at all times.
Blown Out Zone Out interweaves a collection of live AUD cuts featuring guest appearances by some of the truest rippers on the East Coast, including both Kryssi Battalene (of Headroom, Mountain Movers, and Colorguard) and co-Elkhorn shred-man Drew Gardner on guitars, as well as fellow Baked-alum Jeff Tobias on saxophone (whose solo sax/tunnel-workout ’Completely Phantom’ shared its tape batch with Dire Wolves two years back).
Keep yr eyes peeled for a forthcoming Lidders hi-fi full length.
