Earlier this summer, Drew, Tim, Kyle and JK stopped by the compound midway through an east coast jaunt for a proper session at the First Church of Synthesis, laying down some of their trademark midwest mutant jazz between gigs on their way down to Savage Weekend. It’s no secret I absolutely adore Crazy Doberman’s brand of colony-mind lysergic improv, and following up last year’s brain-melting Buchla session for Not Quite Archaic, I was itching to string up a bunch of mics and capture the collective in their natural element.
‘Weight Testing On Rotten Load Bearings’ is the results of these sessions. With a full house of instruments at their disposal, the boys turn on, tune in, and zone out across two sides of dank crawl-space creepies and sinister fried jazz lurch.

Side B is absolute madness. This is the forgotten witch’s kettle bubbling over the rim of the a sacred vessel. Resulting in a burnt potion that only yields cobra snakes that have been dosed with a lethal amount of acid. They spill out and hit the stained linoleum floor while the snake charmer panics and realizes that this is his new reality. Give yourself the gift of transcendence and scoop this holy tape.
