about

Yves Malone should need no introduction at this point. His synth zones have captivated listeners' imaginations across an unparalleled run of cassettes, carefully establishing his own brand of Italo-Carpenter cinematic vision by-way-of chill-inducing blockbusters via Field Hymns, Orange Milk, Tymbal and even the infamous 905.

Like long-lost Holy Grail soundtracks to long-forgotten deep-cuts from the burgeoning straight-to-VHS market, Malone’s far-out narratives expertly construct worlds of apprehension and foreboding tensions - searing leads interweaving with ripping melodies atop deep propelling rhythms and driving arpeggiations, thrusting the uninitiated headfirst into the fantastic worlds of Malone’s own vision and majesty.

A previously digital-only archival cut finally getting its proper physical manifestation, ‘Aced’ was recorded to cassette 8-track somewhere in Southwest American desert during the winter/spring of early 2013, and expertly remastered by Scott Scholz in 2018.
